Overview
Disputes are an unfortunate but common, and sometimes unavoidable, aspect of operating in a complex corporate environment.
Our Corporate & Commercial Litigation team works collaboratively with our clients to identify disputes early and formulate strategies to avoid or resolve them efficiently. We quickly understand the facts, risks, and core issues of each matter, and never lose sight of your commercial objectives.
If a dispute cannot be resolved, we apply our in-depth procedural, technical and practical knowledge derived from working on complex corporate and commercial disputes and litigation in state and federal courts.
Our team has worked across a broad range of industries, including property development, energy and resources, private equity, and professional services. We often work in tandem with other Corporate Legal Services teams, including providing advisory services as part of their transactional work. Our experience enables the team to identify, and implement, commercial solutions.
In modern litigation, it is essential for proceedings to be conducted in a timely, cost‐effective and efficient manner. The team has developed software and processes for managing and reviewing electronic information quickly which facilitates the identification of issues, and the briefing of counsel, experts and witnesses, enabling the team to focus on achieving results for their clients. They are also proficient with e-discovery platforms and the conduct of e-trials.
The team’s ability to move quickly and efficiently means they are well placed to assist with the management of urgent business critical issues, such as applications for injunctive relief, privacy and data breaches, incident response generally, and liaising with external administrators (including in relation to secured interests).
