About Christine
Christine specialises in professional liability managing highly complex claims including multi-party professional negligence matters, high-value project specific risks, excess layer claims and class action disputes. She has over 15 years’ experience, having worked for several years both in-house and in private practice specialising in contentious professional indemnity claims.Currently, Christine is managing several significant litigated construction disputes and advises a diverse range of clients in relation to policy coverage issues, liability risk, potential quantum exposure and resolution strategy.Prior to joining Carter Newell, Christine worked in-house for a major top tier Australian insurer for over seven years, where she managed civil liability claims made against medical professionals and NSW public hospitals, allied health professionals, barristers, accountants, engineers, and other insureds. She also managed several complicated directors’ and officers’ and management liability claims made against individuals and corporate entities.Christine enjoys working collaboratively with clients to resolve insurance disputes that require a nuanced understanding of various commercial perspectives and stakeholder interests.Since January 2023, Christine has been a committee member of the NSW branch of the Australian Professional Indemnity Group (APIG).
