About Lara

Lara is an employment and workplace relations expert, having assisted corporate and insurance clients navigate issues and mitigate risk in this area for more than 18 years.

Advising across employment practices liability, workplace and industrial relations, and workplace health and safety law, Lara helps employers and employees navigate the ever-changing regulatory framework of Australia’s State and Federal industrial relations systems. 

Her claims experience includes unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination and workers’ compensation claims. Lara also has extensive experience defending applications for orders to stop bullying, and regularly acts in prosecutions relating to sham contracting, work health and safety, and underpayment of entitlements.

From an advisory perspective, Lara assists her clients with operational employment issues such as restructures and redundancies, post-employment restraints, protection of confidential information and enterprise bargaining agreements. She is also highly experienced advising on compliance with work health and safety legislation, as well as the management of underperforming, ill or injured employees.

Clients recognise Lara for being approachable, commercial and strategic. She uses her experience and knowledge to solve complex problems – from both legal and human behavioural perspectives.
