About Hayley

Hayley is an experienced professional liability lawyer, having advised clients on complex and high-value professional indemnity claims for more than 5 years.

Working closely with partners Mark Brookes and Greg Stirling, Hayley represents a diverse range of clients, including solicitors, accountants, brokers, real estate agents, veterinarians, and building professionals. She also provides strategic guidance to clients in these industries in response to disciplinary investigations and complaints from regulators and professional bodies.

Hayley regularly assists in relation to both unlitigated claims and complex and high value litigation, including assisting clients to navigate statutory pre-court procedures, appearing in Court, and representing clients in dispute resolution processes. In this respect, Hayley has experience in relation to negligence, contractual, equitable and defamation claims, as well as claims regarding breaches of the Australian Consumer Law and other statutory claims.

Further, Hayley has advised on matters involving social engineering fraud and data breaches. In this, she has developed a thorough understanding of the immediate steps needed to manage the impacts of these incidents and developing effective strategies to manage any ongoing risks or potential consequences.

Hayley also regularly advises and assists in representing insurers in complex coverage matters, including large class actions. This involves providing advice regarding complex indemnity issues and managing the relationships between insureds, brokers, defence counsel and insurers to minimise stress for all and achieve cost effective outcomes.
