About Paul
Paul is a Special Counsel in the Energy & Resources team.
He is an experienced energy and resources lawyer with more than two decades of experience in the industry. He has advised clients, both nationally and internationally, on oil and gas, mining and renewable energy projects.
Prior to joining Carter Newell, Paul worked in house for an NYSE listed oil and gas company, a major domestic gas producer in Queensland, a Queensland based LNG company and a top-tier international law firm.
His broad experience working as senior in house counsel and in private practice has put him in good stead to understand the needs of clients seeking to grow their business, navigate changes and achieve project goals in the ever-challenging energy and resources industry.
Paul provides end-to-end services for energy and resources clients. He helps clients manage legal risks throughout the project life cycle – from asset acquisition, project finance, insurance, joint venture formation and project start up, through to asset commercialisation, construction, operational phases (exploration, production, transportation), contracts and procurement, marketing, compliance, HS&E, divestment, decommissioning and rehabilitation.
