About Stephanie
Stephanie is a highly regarded specialist who has practised for more than a decade exclusively in personal injury, property and product liability. She has extensive experience defending claims and considering complex policy interpretation issues across a variety of jurisdictions for local and international insurers, brokers, third party administrators and corporate insureds with high deductibles.
Stephanie has particular experience defending complex multi-party construction site and mining industry disputes – specifically defending worker to worker claims and advising (and enforcing) the associated contractual indemnity and insurance issues (including dual insurance). Whilst Stephanie acts in a wide variety of areas (e.g. for body corporates, hotels, clubs, shopping centres and security liability claims), she has a special interest and focus on the construction space, sports and leisure and coronial inquests. She also sensitively handles dependency and nervous shock claims which can arise from workplace incidents or other fatalities.
Focused on achieving practical and solution driven results for clients, Stephanie adopts a pro-active approach to claims management and understands the drivers’ of each of her clients’ business. Whilst Stephanie primarily practices in Queensland, she has expanded her practice in recent years, gaining invaluable litigation experience in other Australian jurisdictions. She manages catastrophic and major losses and has been involved in trials in the Queensland Supreme and District Courts along with coronial inquests in the Coroners Court.
Stephanie is the immediate Past-President of Women in Insurance Queensland (2020 to 2024) and provides keynote presentations and papers to her clients and the insurance industry.
